Modern Asian Eichler

The intention of this garden was to honor the trend and love of the post -modern home and style the property originally had, while blending the newly renovated modern Eichler architecture with a garden to complement the entire space. We preserved all of the old, original bonsais, Japanese maples, and conifers, as well as a refurbished teahouse. Our clients had the goal of family fun and entertaining in mind, so we designed in a koi pond, an outdoor fire pit with seating, and an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven. We enjoyed marrying the modern style with the Asian influence that was already established with the garden. As for the plant material, we selected a diverse collection of drought tolerant plants. Upon completion, we agreed that this space was a nod to the best of outdoor California living with a garden that can be viewed from every window of the home.
