Description
The intention of this garden was to enable our clients to stroll through their space, visiting various outdoor rooms and settings as destination points. They wanted to infuse an Asian influence, yet enjoy variety in design. We built and placed several structures and features throughout with a sun deck by a waterfall and pond, a gazebo in an outdoor living area, a sitting bench nestled in the grove of trees, and a dry creek with bridge. As for plant material, we incorporated a collection of maple and conifer trees, and redwood grove. We also planted with all of the different seasons in mind, so that there will always be something in bloom: cymbidium orchids in the winter, cherry blossoms and rhododendron in the spring, hydrangeas and abutilon in the summer,  and a fiery array of fall foliage from the Gingkoes and Japanese maples. Carefully placed boulders help create the flow along the paths and offer temporary resting spots.
